Have you heard about this guy Steve Pageot? I heard he makes hot ass beats!
Yo, does anyone know how i can get in touch with him?
I read an article on him in EQ magazine too and heard that he does engineering too.

I read below that he's in the 30 30 career book. Let me know.

Baddest on the planet

music looking for work

I play keys. I play guitar. I play trumpet and the drums. How can i get into playing on commercials?

I make my own music sometimes too, but I'm mainly a musician.
i know the book ain't out yet, but i could use some advice on this topic.

Billboard Conference

wendell hanes wrote the book.

I saw him at the billboard conference in Atlanta.

He was pretty amazing. i was there to hear about getting my music in video games but he started talking about commercials and i was like, damn! he must be more paid than everyone on the stage. I found an exerpt from the book when I googled his name. Put in
wendell hanes and remix magazine and you'll see an article from the book.

Puffy's probably sitting on that joint like he does every other hot song at bad boy. I guess he's too rich to make good decisions anymore.

Hotness!

When is the release date

Hi, Wendell!

My name is Gina Davis, a graduate from Film & Media Arts in video editing.
Presently, I am learning to write music (hip hop, rock, pop, etc.,) for tv
commercials. Upon reading an article (Band Aid) in the December's issue Remix
magazine about your book, "The 30-30 Career: Making 30 Grand in 30 Seconds" I was
wondering when is your release date. Your website and your interview with
allhiphop.com motivated & encouraged me to to take my music further in different
directions other than dealing with the fickle music industry. I live in
Philadelphia, Pa and right now and I working in Reason, Ableton Live, and Digital
Performer on my laptop at home to do music and it is kind of hard for me to move to
New York or California to pursue truly a career in video editing and commercials.
Needless to say, I am very anxious to read your book and get started. I hope all is
well with you and your career. Your response will greatly be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Gina Davis

can't find your book the 30 30

Hi Wendell,

I found your article in Remix magazine very inspiring! Some of your tips
have already congealed into ideas for me. I can't find your book online
though! Can you send me a link on where to buy it? Many Thanks! And Happy
New Year!

Hey,
I read your article in remix? magazine (which was very interesting),?and have always
been wanting to get into doing music for commercials, tv, etc. I've been
producing/making music for about 9 years and am now 22. I've done everything from
hip-hop, to house, to lounge, to drum n bass and?more. I taught myself to play keys
and also played trumpet throughout grade school. Anyway the reason I wrote is to ask
about your book and if and when it will be in stores, I'm very interested in picking
it up. If you get a chance let me know the release date of it and where I can buy it
from. Thanks!

Remix Magazine the 30 30 book

Hi Wendell:

My daughter Roshan gave me a copy of your article entitled
"Music-for-commercials composer/producer Wendell Hanes the key to
success." We read your article--thought it was great. Would like
information on how to get into the mainstream of writing for
commercials, and also how to get in touch with the right agent. Any
information, pointers and/or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Currently doing a lot of transcription for major Gospel artists. My
daughter has just finished her CD. Roshan and I need to get our
original songs "out of the suitcase," and into the universe. Look
forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks.

Yo 30 30,
Ever since Timbo left Missy, he's been going for the check with his music. Synthesizer techno looped over the that tired Planet Rock beat. He needs to get back with Missy. He's gerttin mad checks, but he needs a reality check!

the 30 30 career

what the hell do I need to do records for if I can make 30 grand for a commercial. Even if I get a track on a big record. They ain't gonna give me more than ten or fifteen thousand anyway. Who cares about doing records. i'm trying to retire at 40.

Fred "Youngboy" Sands

timbaland takin all the money

TimbaLand makes too much damn money doing records!
Labels act like he's the only one that can make hot tracks!
I've been trying to get placements for the last six years and everyone says my beats are hot. I did a track for a major artist that was supposed to be on the album, and then found out that my spot was taken by Timbaland.
I'm sick of the record industry. I'm trying to do commercials now. At least i know I won't be competing with Timbaland. Now, so what if Timbaland is proven, a hit maker. So! I'm not sweatin his stuff that much, especially his synthesizer tracks for Nelly Furtado and his solo album. I'm sick of Timbaland.

I'm trying to make 30 grand per commercial in the commercial industry. It sounds like this is the place to get it poppin!

What advice do you suggest?

Devin

Ludacris

Mr Wendell how are you? My name is Gracious. I have a management company that currently represents artists as well as producers in Atlanta, Georgia. I want to expand the services of my company and after hearing you speak at the conference this past Thursday, I was inspired to learn more about your expertise. Initially, I would like to obtain a copy of your book as well as posiibly speak wtih you again. I am eager to learn more about helping my producers get some of these T.V. spots. We have gotten major placements with Field Mob, Ludacris, and 8 Ball and MJG, however, I would love to do some background music for anyone in the near future. Once again I am very eager to learn more and I have several questions to ask, thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

30 Grand in 30 Seconds

Wendell,

My name is Ric "DJ Form" Robbins. I own the 3-time Grammy nominated
production company, Incorporated Elements. I have also had over 300
track/song placements in film, television, and video games.

I recently read your interview in Remix Magazine. I am very intrigued by
what you do, and would love to discuss the possibility of working with/for
you and your company in the near future.

I absolutely love the world of music branding for film, television, games,
advertising, corporate branding, etc.

I know you're very busy, but I'd love to talk to you when you have time.

Thanks,

Ric

the 30 30

Wendell,

Thanks for your article in Dec Remix. It couldn't have been more timely for me. As
the new year approaches, I'm looking to expand my workload to encompass more
commercial and composition for hire. Your article was super inspirational and
motivational to me. As a multi-instrumentalist and degreed composer with some solid
rock record producer/writer/arranger credits, I know I've got the "goods"; I just
need to present myself in the right way to the right people. It's time to stop
sitting on $50 grand of gear making records that will never be
printed/released/marketed in the physical realm....

I've looked every couple of days on AuthorHouse for your book to no avail.
I'll buy it the day it's released. Please let me know!

Cheers,
Brent Meyer

BTW - BRILLIANT work! I think I listened to every sample on Volition's webpage.
