METRO BEATS

Hey Wendell.

We wanted to reach out to you and send through a few samplers that are
currently circulating. We have placed music on BET already and have produced for
allot of artists including Ransom, Geolani and many others. We also have been
shopping to labels and are in the process of working on our vision. Check out
the myspace for an idea @ www.myspace.com/therealnessproductions . We remixed
Bloc Party, Kenna, Ashlee Simpson. We also have a interview @
www.livefromthefrontline.com .We value your input and have tremendous respect
for what you are doing out there. The market is tough. We would definitely like
to build with you. We write "leftfield", sample free tracks that tow the line
between street and commercial appeal. Instead of filling up your work
email(which we all hate), I'll just attach a few track samplers for any of your
current projects.

OPPORtunity Knocks

Hello Mr.

I would really like to have an opportunity to get into the business making
music for commercials.

I have been making beats for a few years and I have a MPC 4000, motif es 8,
roland xr, se-1x, a ton of records, and I am about to get a virus. I listen to
all kinds of music, I read a few book on music theory and I work really hard.

I'd really like an opportunity and I was wondering what steps I should take to
submit my music for commercials.

Thanks in advance,

Antonio

large catalogue

Wendell,

Whatup man? I briefly met you last year in NYC at the Dynamic Producer conference at the Park Central Hotel (last summer).

I am a producer who specializes in Reggae, Hip-hop, Dancehall, Dirty South, & Pop. I have had TV placements recently on the History Channel and the BET Mixed Martial Arts reality show, IRON RING, and have recently signed two music placement agreements and have music cataloged in several music libraries. I currently work with a few artists, and have potential placements with major label artists at the moment. The majority of my productions are sample-free and broadcast quality, and I own 100% of the copyrights. I have some music available on my myspace page - www.myspace.com/stupidgenius - as well as www.stupidgenius.com if you are interested in a quick preview, or I could email you some snippets as well.

I have a large catalog of instrumental Hip-hop/Dirty South, Reggae, and Dancehall music that is ready to go, for the purposes of licensing for film, TV, video games, and multimedia productions. I also have a small catalog of Reggae & Hip-hop tracks with vocals. If you are interested in my sound, or would like to hear more from me, please contact me, and let me know what you are currently working on.

I look forward to hearing from you and potentially working together in the near future. Thanks for your time.

Matt

remix panel

Wendell,
It was good meeting you and hearing your wisdom on the
panel today.
My one regret, was being broke and not being able to
purchase a copy of your book. When I do, I would you
to sign it for me. Let me know if you are cool with
that.

Peace and Blessings,

THE BUSINESS SIDE

WHATS UP WENDELL IM JUST HITTING YOU UP TO LET YOU KNOW WHO I AM . MY NAME IS JAMES AKA CHEEZ IM FROM COMPTON,CA. I SPOKE WITH YOU ON THE PHONE SATURDAY 6/14/08 WE CHOPPED IT UP BRIEFLY ABOUT WHAT I NEED TO DO TO GET YOU SOME MUSIC AND WHETHER OR NOT YOU GIVE FEED BACK REGARDLESS OF IF ITS GOOD OR NOT. I CAUGHT YOUR INTERVIEW ON SHADE 45 AND GOT THROUGH WITH A QUESTION, WHICH WAS IF I SEND YOU TRACKS TO LISTEN TO BY ME NOT HAVING ANY PUBLISHING WHAT WOULD STOP YOU FROM JUST TAKING THE TRACK AND SAYING ITS YOURS? AS I MENTIONED ON THE PHONE IM FAIRLY NEW TO THE PRODUCTION SIDE OF THE BIZ BUT IM AWARE OF HOW THE ARTIST AND BUSSINESS SIDE WORKS. JUST SO YOU KNOW IVE READ TWO MUSIC INDUSTRY BOOKS A WLONG WHILE AGO THEY WERE EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MUSIC BIZ BY DONALD PASSAMAN AND ONE BY KASSIF.MY MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO GET IN AND ONCE THAT HAPPENS I STRONGLY BELIEVE EVERYTHING ELSE WILL SPEAK FOR ITSELF. WHAT IM ASKING OF YOU IS FEEDBACK NEGATIVE OR POSITVE AND IF THE POSITIVE PRODUCES WHAT YOU THINK CAN BE A HIT LETS RUN WIT IT. IM CURRENTLY CREATING TRACKS USING FRIUTY LOOPS 5(DONT LAUGH) IM GETTING READY TO UPGRADE TO THE 8 AND IM ALSO THINKING ABOUT GETTING REASONS. MY BOY IS RUNNING PRO TOOLS, SO WHAT IM DOING IS CREATING AT HOME THEN RENDERING THE TRACKS TO A DATA CD BRING FRUITY UP AT HIS CRIB DUMPING IT INTO PRO TOOLS AND MASTERING FROM THERE. ANY WAY LETS SEE WHAT IT DO AND HOPEFULLY GOOD THINGS COME FROM THIS OPPORTUNITY.

WORK IN THE FIELD

I would like to work in the field, but i do not know how to go about it.
I compose, produce and have experience engineering. I work with Digital Performer.
I would like more information about your company. I've taken a look at your producer roster, which is very impressive by the way.
How and where do you recruit, what type of requirements do you have as far as credentials or whatnot.

I also edit videos and work very closely with a film director (to-be). I have a lot of very interresting ideas, but this is a new town, state and country for me (i'm from Montreal, Canada). From my understanding, you work very closely with agencies. I do not know if you have people amongst your staff that feed these agencies with "reference work" (visuals).

In any case, like i said, i seriously would like to build a relationship with your company and possibly work with you on the different projects you have going on. AND if visuals is something you plan on doing anytime soon, i could and would like to be help.

make an impact

Hello Wendell,

I would like to send to you the original physical demo, not mp3's this is because after
reading the book, i realised that the way i should approach the music houses was by
making an impact, and the only way music houses would listen to my trakcs was by making
them interested in the product, which is the physical demo.

i would really appreciate if you could give me an address i can send them to. and tell me
what you think..

thanks!

very insightful

I found the book awesome and insightful. At this point i just need to follow through. I am certain i have the ability, i can compose and produce in most styles, including 16th to 18th century counterpoint. I am working on my spec reel as we speak.

i had been trying to arrange a Q and A with windell. That would be great if some how we could work that out.

enclosed are four original tracks created by myself. I was unsure of what style so i just picked my strongest one.

****** i was unable to send a wave file should i compress it? how can i send you guys a wave?

VERY INSPIRATIONAL BOOK

I finished the book, it is very inspirational to read points of view from some of the industry top cats. I really like your questions to the producers and i am looking forward to my first break in the commercial world. I really think you are touching on something with this hole idea of trans-collaborations and using technology and the web to create a new production hub.
